The Financial District is the bro-iest neighborhood in San Francisco, SFGate.com reports

At least that's what data tech company FindTheBest found in a quantitative analysis of bro-ness, which, to be honest, is a pretty bro-ish task to undertake. According to SFGate, the company created a "Bro Index" based on "number of gyms, fitness centers, bars, liquor stores and adult entertainment establishments per capita, and the proportion of adults aged 20-34."

The Financial District, with 127 bars and 61 fitness centers per 10,000 people, topped the scale at 84.4 on the Bro Index.

Two former managers of the 49ers slammed CEO Jed York and the team with an age discrimination lawsuit on Friday, years after York fired the veteran employees in an alleged effort to brand his team as the technology startup of the NFL.

Anthony Lozano and Keith Yanagi, both who were in their late 50's when they were fired, submitted a federal complaint against York for letting go "a lot" of senior managers in 2011 and 2012 to make room for younger employees from Silicon Valley, the complaint alleges.

When asked why the team wanted to hire young tech workers, the complaint says York replied, "'Because they made a lot of money, they did a lot of cool things before they turned 40 years old, and they didn't want to play golf six days a week.'"

Uber's spying scandal proves the Silicon Valley darling is no stranger to shady behavior. Neither is Travis Kalanick, it turns out: The Uber CEO has his very own stalker.

A "deeply disturbed" disbarred San Francisco lawyer with substance abuse problems and "possible military training" has unnerved Kalanick enough for the tycoon to seek a judge's protection, according to court records.

As though you needed another reason to distrust  Ron Conway — Airbnb investor, Ed Lee financier, backer of a campaign to smear David Campos, and all-around political Svengali — get this: he's now emerged as an apologist for CIA torture.

On the day the Senate Intelligence Committee released its long-awaited report on CIA interrogation tactics, revealing that the agency mislead Congress and the public about its use of torture, Conway decided to weigh in with a #SupportTheCIA hashtag.

SF Techie Launches Grassroots Campaign to Mobilize Techies

Ask any political wonk who runs the tech lobby in San Francisco, and he'll cite all the usual suspects: Sean Parker, whose $2.46 million in political contributions dwarfed those of any other donor; Ron Conway, who pushed the 2011 Twitter tax break, buttressed Ed Lee's mayoral campaign, and rewarded Assembly candidate David Chiu for his recent appeasement of Airbnb; the Mayor himself, who has earned a reputation for coddling tech companies; Supervisor David Chiu, Attorney General Kamala Harris...

The list goes on. And on.

Nonetheless, tech worker Randy Brasche saw a gap in the political effort. Techies might have the ear of bigwigs, but they don't have their own purse-strapped, go-it-alone, grassroots campaign. You know, the equivalent to a Google bus protest, or an anti-eviction group, or something.

So Brasche decided to start one.

Best Halloween Costume: Guy Poses As Douchey Dropbox Employee with Permit

San Francisco's gleeful indignation over the Mission Playground permit fight — in which a small army of tech bros booted a neighborhood pickup soccer game from a park on Valencia Street — has almost subsided. Under intense pressure from local activists, SF Rec & Park rescinded its "pay-to-play" policy; meanwhile, Dropbox tweeted a mea culpa after a viral video of the incident showed one of the company's employees squabbling with Latino teenage soccer players.

"Who gives a shit...about the neighborhood?" the Dropbox guy famously whined. He'd inadvertently delivered a new tech bro credo.

And now he's being resurrected as a Halloween costume in San Francisco, by an artist who's giving the sexy Ebola nurse a run for her money.

David vs. David - NOAH BERGER

The fight over David Chiu's newly-ratified Airbnb legislation heated up two weeks ago, when word got out that Airbnb investor Ron Conway and his wife, Gayle, had poured some $75,000 into an independent expenditure committee to crush Chiu's rival, David Campos, in the assembly race this November.

And the money for "San Franciscans to Hold Campos Accountable" keeps rolling in, as more tech companies try to make good with the city family. Right now, the committee has more than $700,000 in its coffers, and the meter keeps ticking up.

So far, the biggest contributor is LinkedIn co-founder — and early Airbnb backer — Reid Hoffman, whose $600,000 contributions account for the lion's share of the fund. Last week, SideCar founder Sunil Paul chipped in $5,000 of his own. Silicon Valley investor Justin Fishner-Wolfson, a managing partner in the firm 137 Ventures, donated $10,000 in early October.

"It's about to go down," a cameraman murmurs excitedly, panning along the Mission Playground on a recent Sunday, when a group of Dropbox and Airbnb employees tried to expel some neighborhood kids so they could play their corporate soccer game.

The tech bros said they'd rented the field from San Francisco Recreation & Parks Department; the kids said that field has always been up for grabs. Their spat, captured on YouTube and posted on Uptown Almanac, is priceless:

Now the Almanac reports that San Francisco Latino Democratic Club has planned a protest on the steps of City Hall this Thursday, demanding that Rec & Parks stop privatizing the local soccer fields.

A former San Francisco tech CEO pleaded guilty to wire fraud in federal court, admitting that he spent $765,000 of his victims’ money on vacations and entertainment after he coerced them into investing in his company.

Jonathan Edward Mills, founder of Motionloft, Inc., told victims that a major Silicon Valley company was about to acquire his company.

That wasn’t the case, he admitted in court, but his victims were convinced they would gain partial ownership of his company and reap massive profits from their contributions.

Sean Parker, legendary for helping single mothers get sued for downloading LeAnn Rimes songs and for throwing really dope weddings, is now one of the top power players in California politics.

Which is to say, the Napster co-founder, early Facebook investor and Justin Timberlake lookalike is super-rich, and is spending millions of dollars of his fortune on candidates and campaigns.

Parker is now the top donor to two major California voter initiatives, according to the Fair Political Practices Commission, putting him in the good company of public-employee unions, tribal casinos, and trial lawyers. Except much more popular at parties.

And just what is Parker supporting? Whatever Gov. Jerry Brown wants, mostly.

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
