Public nudists are planning to strip down once again and head to City Hall -- all in the name of art. That's right, the Castro's legion of nude men are now claiming their naked bodies are no different than any other fine craft on display.
In short, consider this event a quasi art show. And hey, it's free.
Naked people say they will be out there to show city officials that Supervisor Scott Wiener's proposal to ban public nudity is "totally un-San Franciscan." They claim the Castro rep is interfering with their artistic abilities, if you will.

And here's how they explain it:
The local reporter who recently got into a heated dispute with the manager of the Castro Theatre while interviewing a group of naked dudes in the street is getting no sympathy from the cops.
Readers might recall the strange incident in which the Castro Theatre manager, Keith Arnold, cock-blocked a journalist as he was trying to video and interview local nudists outside the iconic theater.

Turns out, public nudity isn't all pink elephants and lemonade. San Francisco's Castro nudists are planning to rally today, but this one is about something far more tragic than naked people being forced to wear clothes.
These local exhibitionist are rightfully disturbed by the news that a naked Alabama teen was shot to death last weekend by a University of Southern Alabama cop. According to the press, 18-year-old Gil Collar was allegedly buck naked and possibly high on LSD when he was killed.
The fact that he was killed while nude is enough reason for nudist czar Mitch Hightower to organize a memorial tonight to honor the college freshman. Bloggers are reporting that naked people will gather at Jane Warner Plaza at Castro and Market streets at 6 p.m.

Nudists to Rally for Naked People, but Kindly Ask That You Leave Your Hard-Ons at Home
Public nudists act like running around town without clothes is like Christmas, Hanukkah, and their birthday rolled into one. We had no reason to doubt them, until now.
SF Weekly intern Coburn Palmer shot this photo of this San Francisco nudist who makes going naked look about as exciting as dinner conversation with Mayor Ed Lee.

Now that Supervisor Scott Wiener has officially introduced legislation to ban public nudity, naked people are organizing a (clothing-optional) fight.
If you really want to get your point across, then go ahead and mark Oct. 20 as a day you plan to spend naked in public. The nudists of San Francisco are asking you all to come out to Jane Warner Plaza for at least two hours and show the world (and Scott Wiener) what you got.
Check out the official invite:The debate over public nudity has finally come to a head.
Supervisor Scott Wiener says he plans to introduce legislation later today that will seriously restrict public nudity in San Francisco. According to the plan, naked men (and women, if there are any) would no longer be allowed to flap freely in city plazas, parklets, sidewalks, streets, and public transit.
So basically, everywhere.
Nudity would be allowed at places and events where you go to see naked people -- Folsom Street Fair, Bay to Breakers, Pride parade, or your own backyard.

Have you ever wondered what those Castro nudists would don if they actually did walk around like the rest of us -- with clothes on?
Well, wonder no more. This group of exhibitionist activists met with Supervisor Scott Wiener last week to talk about naked men roaming the Castro. The group went to his offices at City Hall and were kind enough to dress up for the occasion.
Even better, they thoughtfully snapped a photo of themselves in clothing for all to see.

A local journalist says he filed a police report this weekend, claiming his attempt to interview public nudists outside the Castro Theatre were cock-blocked by the theater's general manager.
Mike Skiff, a journalist with Third Rail Media, posted his video and explained what happened on Saturday as he interviewed two naked dudes outside the Castro Theatre:
The debate over public nudity heats up in San Francisco. Several nudists, including [a] former SF mayoral [candidate] celebrating Park(ing) Day by turning a parking space into the Garden of Eden beneath the iconic Castro Theatre marquee. The Castro's livid general manager, Keith Arnold, interrupted interviews by repeatedly striking a news cameraman with a clip board (at 2:25) and forcing the law-biding nudists to move one store front down Castro street. In answer to the question, "Are you tolerant of public nudism?" Mr. Arnold says in the video, "I'm tolerant of kids not having cocks in theirWatch the video:faces."
