Two Shot Dead in the Bayview Yesterday

Three people were shot and two died in separate shootings in the city's Bayview neighborhood yesterday afternoon. 

At about 4:15 p.m., the cops were alerted to a shooting via a shot spotter activation in the area of Ingalls and Revere in the Bayview District. "Moments later, a citizen called 911 and stated someone was shot on the 1200 block of Revere," says Officer Grace Gatpandan.

Officers responding to the scene found a female victim, in her 30s, laying on the sidewalk at Ingalls and Revere suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

Community Remembers Hayes Valley Shooting Victims During Evening Vigil

  • Community activist Mattie Scott at a vigil for four homicide victims where the Hayes Valley shooting occurred.
Some 100 people gathered Monday night to march against gun violence from the Western Addition to Page and Laguna streets — the corner where four men were shot dead over the weekend while sitting in a car.

District 5 Supervisor London Breed, community activist Mattie Scott, and the Rev. Amos Brown of Third Baptist Church of San Francisco led the evening's prayer vigil and march from the African American Cultural Center to Hayes Valley.

“Our kids are dying,” said Breed, who grew up in the neighborhood she now represents. “I don’t even know if there’s a day that goes by that I’m not thinking about somebody we have lost in this community, when I see a mother who I know has lost her child.”

Vigil Tonight for Victims of Quadruple Homicide in Hayes Valley

The community is planning vigil tonight dedicated to the four men who were shot and killed in Hayes Valley this weekend. 

The four men — who have not been identified as of Monday morning — were gunned down while sitting in a car on Page Street Friday night in what police believe to be a gang-related shooting. Officer Albie Esparza says the four victims were found inside a stolen vehicle that was double parked on the 200 block of Page Street. 

Police are still trying to verify the make and model of the car to see if it's related to the homicide.

Accused Robber Turns Into Accused Murderer

A man picked up by the cops for robbery is facing a potentially longer stint in jail after the cops later identified as the suspect in a murder case from earlier this month. 

Police say they nabbed 21-year-old Taaron Bragg this week for the murder of Camilo Senchyna-Beltran who was funned down on Dec. 7. According to police, Bragg had been busted on an unrelated robbery warrant and misdemeanor theft. While at the Bayview station, the cops started realize he looked familiar.

Man Found Dead in the Mission District (Update)

Update: Police say they've arrested 36-year-old Cesar Castellanos in connection to the murder. Both the suspect and victim were homeless. 

An unidentified man was found dead in the Mission District yesterday morning in what appears to be a homicide. 

According to Officer Grace Gatpandan, police were called out to the intersection of Cesar Chavez and Potrero at about 6:30 a.m. where they found a deceased man. It was not yet clear how he died, but police confirmed the man was murdered.

Ronnie Hyson Identified as Man Shot to Death in Tenderloin

Medical authorities this morning said it was 55-year-old Ronnie Hyson who was murdered in the Tenderloin Thursday. 

Police were called out to the 200 block of Hyde Street just before 1 a.m. yesterday on reports of gunfire. When they arrived, they found Hyson shot. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Man Murdered in the Tenderloin This Morning

A 45-year-old man was shot dead in the city's Tenderloin neighborhood early this morning, police said. 

According to police reports, officers were called out to the 200 block of Hyde Street just before 1 a.m. on reports of gunfire. When they arrived, the located the victim with a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

  • Suspect Antonio Dupress charged with the murder of Gary Mulhearn
San Francisco police say they've nabbed the man who killed 63-year-old Gary Mulhearn in his Rincon Hill home three weeks ago. 

Police arrested 36-year-old Antonio Dupree on suspicion of killing Mulhearn who lived nearby. Officer Albie Esparza could not say how the victim was killed or what the motive might have been, but described the victim and suspect as acquaintances.

"We're waiting for the Medical Examiner to finish the report," Esparza says.

Camilo Senchyna Beltran Identified as Man Gunned Down in the Mission

Medical authorities say it was 26-year-old Camilo Senchyna Beltran who was shot and killed in the Mission District early Sunday morning.

Police say the victim was at 20th and Mission streets just before 2 a.m. when he was shot once in the chest. The shooter fled on foot and no suspect description was available.
