It Seems Bernie Sanders is Coming to San Francisco Today

Hillary Clinton may be ahead in the race for delegates (and superdelegates), but Sen. Bernie Sanders is not giving up the quest to bring Brooklyn accents and social democracy to the White House.

With just a few weeks to go before the California primary, the big Bern is busy campaigning in California today, with a rally in San Jose underway as we type, and another stop in Vallejo scheduled for 7:30 p.m. this evening.

As you are aware, in between those two places is a little town called San Francisco — where labor unions are planning a massive rally at 4 p.m. at Justin Herman Plaza. And rumor has it that Sanders himself may come through to say a few words.

The rally at Justin Herman Plaza is organized by labor unions UNITE HERE Local 2 and SEIU Local 87, the janitors' union. Ian Lewis, a media representative for Local 2, which organizes hotel workers, could neither "confirm nor deny" whether or not Sanders would be in town, but did drop a sizable hint.

"I really encourage you to be there," he said.

Whether or not Sanders is around, union members — of whom Sanders is a big supporter, though presumably Hillary would say she is, too — plan to meet at 4 near the Ferry Building before marching to hotels at 101 California Street and elsewhere in the Financial District.

Both Sanders and former Secretary of State Clinton have been popping up in the area recently, with Clinton appearing in Oakland, where her headquarters is located.

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
