Once upon a time, the masters of our universe lived in big-ass castles far far away from the lowly peons o'erwhicht they ruled. If, twixt gambling over the borders of nation states and training learned counselors to train butlers to train houseboys to train curs to rotate their mutton chops over the fire, these Great Men were struck by a Thought of such o'erweening brilliance that it must be shared forthwith with the common folks, they would summon a scribe, set forth such Thought, will into being a thousand copyscribes, and send forth an army of messengers on horseback to make known their Thought to the people.

Those were the days.

Today, the masters of our universe are schlubby dudes with too much money and not enough manual labor to keep them busy. They don't need learned counselors. They are the smartest guys in the room. (Seriously they bought Apple in 1873, how smart was that!?) They don't need scribes and copyscribes and messengers on horseback. They have Twitter.

Welcome to VCs Tweeting Badly, a semi-regular look at the terrible ideas of the rich people who rule our world.

For our first edition, we bring you Jason Calacanis. Calacanis, or @Jason, as he's known on Twitter, is less a venture capitalist than an angel investor, but tomato, tomato he's rich, he's in tech, and he think's he's smarter than you.

Like the rest of the world, Jason had quite a Friday. He started off the day thinking not of terrorism, but of the scourge of educated and agitated college students haunting America. Irritated by said college students speaking out against persistent racism on U.S. campuses, he had some Thoughts.

These are some nice Thoughts from Jason, a nobody from Brooklyn who gate-crashed a bunch of events and got rich. It's a fun story for someone for whom the worst case scenario is a six-figure salary at a Fortune 500 company. It's so sweet.

Now try gate-crashing fancy tech events if you're black and from Brooklyn. But actually please don't try it, because the worst case scenario is absolutely not a six-figure salary.

If you have the stomach for it, Jason went on to share some Thoughts about the terrorist attacks in Paris and Islam. They are, to put it mildly, Not Good Thoughts.

4/Jews are being stabbed in the streets daily, Paris is under regular assault & the US has probably escaped due to spying on citizens.

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage.
