How San Francisco Is Really Celebrating City Hall's 100th Anniversary

San Francisco’s City Hall is turning 100. How is the city celebrating?


  • The Board of Supervisors will send out a press release taking credit for the passage of time.
  • Rents will go up.
  • Willie Brown will lead a City Hall tour showing where the bodies are buried.
  • This week only, the Clerk’s office will license polygamous marriages.
  • Art Agnos will demand that the building’s age be put to a referendum.
  • For one glorious day, smoking, sodas, bottled water, and Big Macs will be allowed on city property.
  • The dome will be posted on Airbnb.
  • Gavin Newsom will give a 7.5 hour speech that barely mentions the building.
  • All the Google buses will line up in the parking lot and give a 21 lobbyist salute.
  • City Hall will reveal itself to be the head of Voltron.
