This isn't some set up to slam on techies or hipsters. We're serious: The city is truly infested with bugs, according to a new study released this week by Terminix

The nation's largest pest-control company has released its 2015 rankings of the most infested cities in the nation, with San Francisco taking the No. 2 spot. Only Los Angeles has more bugs than us, according to the company.

Oddly enough, the study revealed that most termites tend to live in warmer areas, hence Texas and parts of California topped the list. So then why would foggy San Francisco be a breeding ground for those creepy crawlers?

"San Francisco’s year-round moderate temperatures are favorable for termite activity, especially when combined with the humidity that is common to the area,” Doug Webb, Terminix technical specialist  tells us.

Sadly, you really can't escape termites — they're active in all 50 states except Alaska, and regularly cause thousands of dollars of uninsured damage across the country."

Anyway, here's the full list of cities with the most buggers:

1. Los Angeles, Calif.
2. San Francisco, Calif.
3. Dallas-Forth Worth, Texas
4. San Diego, Calif.
5. Houston, Texas
6. Miami-Fort Lauderdale, Fla.
7. Phoenix, Ariz.
8. Atlanta, Ga.
9. Sacramento, Calif.
10. Oklahoma City, Okla.
11. Tampa-St. Petersburg, Fla.
12. Boston, Mass.
13. Washington, D.C.
14. Honolulu, Hawaii
15. Cincinnati, Ohio
16. Philadelphia, Penn.
17. Baton Rouge, La.
18. New York, N.Y.
19. Kansas City, Kan.
20. San Antonio, Texas

This list was created by compiling termite-specific inbound lead data from the more than 300 Terminix branches across the country. The rankings represent Metropolitan Statistical Areas (MSAs) with the highest volume of leads throughout 2014. Los Angeles, San Francisco, Dallas-Forth Worth and Houston all moved up the list this year, previously holding spots two, eight, five and nine, respectively. San Diego, the previous leader, dropped three spots.

The average damage caused by termite infestations is $8,184 — or about two month's worth of rent in San Francisco.

Consider yourself warned.

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
