Burglars Smash And Loot Another Electronics Store

A Lower Pacific Heights electronics store was victim to the latest smash-and-grab heist early this morning, authorities said.

Witnesses living above Music Lovers Audio and Video store at the 2200 block of Bush Street heard a collision around 4 am, said Officer Albie Esparza. After the crash, three people covered in hoods were seen taking items from the store fleeing the scene in a red four-door truck.

The cost of equipment loss is unknown at the time, but nobody was reported injured. Investigators are still assessing surveillance footage of the incident, authorities said. This is the second break-in for Music Lovers within a few weeks.

Police are looking into whether this latest incident is anyway related to the many other smash-and-grabs that have occurred in the Bay Area over the last few months. In all cases, the robbers have been covered up and seen smashing into the front of the store, making an escape via vehicle, Esparza said.

Bootlegged electronic equipment is hard to track in the market, as it is often shipped elsewhere or sold through online forums like Craigslist as well at flea markets, according to Esparza.

“It’s quite a sophisticated plan that they do,” Esparza said. “They want to get rid of it quickly.”

Police are asking for tips related to the string of burglaries that can be placed anonymously at 415-575-4444.
