An unidentified cyclist was struck by a car in the city's Mission District this afternoon.
Police say the cyclist was pedaling at the east on 14th Street near Folsom when he/she collided with a car that had been traveling north on Folsom. San Francisco Sheriff deputies were near the scene when it happened and responded to the incident first. When they arrived, they located a woman administering chest compressions to the cyclist, says Officer Grace Gatpandan.
The deputies took over CPR and transported the cyclist to San Francisco General Hospital with life-threatening injuries.
"It is undetermined at this time who is at fault, however the SFPD Traffic Collision Investigation Unit will be taking over the investigation," Gatpandan says.
