Tonight, San Francisco police are hosting a town hall meeting to release the details of the latest officer-involved shooting, where two cops shot and killed Amilcar Perez Lopez, a Guatemalan immigrant who was allegedly trying to rob a man of his bike.

Outside the town hall, which will be held at Cesar Chavez Elementary School, community members angered by the shooting will hold a vigil and march in honor of the 21-year-old man.

On Friday, two plainclothes officers walked into a crime scene on Folsom in 24th where they say Perez Lopez was attempting to rob another man of his bike; police reports say the suspect was seen chasing the victim around with a knife.

Police ordered Perez Lopez to drop the knife, and after he did not comply, they fired up to six rounds, hitting him in the upper body. He died at the scene. Friends claim the man didn't speak English and was not understanding what police were saying to him.

The following evening, the community held a march, demanding justice for Amilcar.
The town hall will be held at 6 p.m.
