San Francisco Medical Examiner's Office confirmed just now that the dismembered body found in a suitcase two weeks ago was 58-year-old Omar Shahwan, the man
who was reported missing in Vallejo two weeks ago.

Authorities had suspected that the body, which was missing a head and hands, was Shahwan, a friend of Mark Andrus, who was once a suspect in the murder case. Andrus was released from jail a few days after his arrest when prosecutors said there wasn't enough evidence to charge the 54-year-old drifter.

Andrus died over the weekend after he checked himself into San Francisco General Hospital.

On Jan. 28, police were called to 11th and Mission streets on reports of a suspicious package. A quick investigation revealed the package in question was a roller-type suitcase filled with body parts. Police located more body parts nearby.

Surveillance footage led police to Andrus who was arrested on the 400 block of Turk Street where he had been staying with a friend. He was charged with murder and released three days later.

Authorities say they have yet to determine a cause of death, nor do they have another suspect at this time.

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
