Taja DeJesus Identified as Woman Found Stabbed to Death in Stairway

San Francisco authorities say it was 36-year-old Taja DeJesus who was found murdered in a stairwell in the city's Bayview District earlier this week.

According to police, DeJesus was found at about 9 a.m. on Sunday on the steps of a building in the 1400 block of McKinnon Avenue near Lane Street with multiple stab wounds. She died at the scene. 

Witnesses told police that the suspect was described as a 6-foot-1 black man wearing a black jacket and shorts. Anyone with information is asked to contact SFPD at (415) 575-4444.
