The non-stop rain won't be stopping anytime soon, so prepare yourself for some "urban flooding." That and some high winds, thunder, falling trees, and definitely a nightmare commute.
The National Weather Service says moderate to heavy rain is expected through Friday, with thunderstorms headed here tonight and winds reaching 20-plus mph.
As the rain continues, meteorologists issued a flooding advisory for the San Francisco Bay Area. In other words expect maximum inconvenience and minimum property damage. For instance, Muni officials are reporting a sinkhole over at Fillmore and Hayes. Buses are running late this morning, due to power issues and downed trees across the city.
And watch out for those deceiving puddles, you know the ones that appear to be shallow until you get your car stuck in it.
If you're trying to get from Point A to Point B, good luck. Over at the airport, officials say 51 flights had been canceled as of 2 a.m. and this morning, BART is reporting a major delay at the Embarcadero station due to equipment problems on the tracks. Oh, and the Cable Cars are shut down for the remainder of the day, according to Muni.
On the bright side, we've had more rain this week than we did in all of 2013.
