The family of Dan Ha, the iOS developer who went missing on Halloween night, held a press conference this afternoon confirming their worst nightmare: the young tech worker is believed to be dead.

Yesterday morning, the Coast Guard recovered a body from the water near Pier 22, and although the Medical Examiner's Office has not confirmed it to be Ha, his family says authorities confirmed his clothes, wallet contents, and phone matched those of Ha's personal belongings.

Joseph Ha, Dan's younger brother, issued the following statement to the press:

At this time, we believe the body is Dan’s. We are still waiting to hear from SFPD for a full confirmation.
We have no reason to believe that this was a suicide. Dan has never indicated having any intention of harming himself. Dan did not leave a note, had scheduled a doctor’s appointment the morning of his disappearance, and was scheduled to attend a work event the next day. On his desk was even a note to return a shirt he had recently purchased.
Ha went on about his brother, describing him as a talented and inspirational brother, son, and friend "with a huge heart and brilliant mind."

"He truly loved life and lived it to the fullest," the younger Ha said.

Ha was last seen on Halloween night by his roommate who says he was rushing out the door of their SoMa apartment with nothing in hand but his wallet. He had worked from home that day after leaving his office early the day before complaining of a migraine.

His friends and family reported him missing a few days later — and police confirmed that his bank account had been left untouched since his disappearance.  Meanwhile, friends and family combed the streets, searching for Ha, a 26-year-old iOs developer who had graduated from Stanford with a computer science degree.

Then yesterday, authorities came across a body floating in the water just off Pier 22. The face was "indistinguishable," but police say they believe the person had been dead for about a week.

The family  will be holding a memorial service for Dan Friday at 7:30 p.m. at St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church located at 16th and Dolores streets. His family, who drove here from British Columbia last week,  is accepting donations to help offset the cost of funeral expenses which will be held in WA.

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
