Randi Salmon Identified as Woman Killed at Lands End

Posted By on Fri, Oct 31, 2014 at 9:56 AM

Medical authorities this morning identified the woman who fell off a cliff at Lands End yesterday afternoon as 26-year-old Randi Salmon, a Seattle resident.

Salmon was reportedly with a 27-year-old man at the very dangerous Painted Rock area where signs warn hikers to keep out "people have fallen to their death" when the two got stuck on a cliff near El Camino Del Mar and 32nd Avenue. When firefighters arrived, they pulled Salmon from the water and she was pronounced dead at the scene.

Randy Lavasseur, the chief ranger at Lands End, says the second person was rescued from the rocks. News reports indicate the man was in distress hanging on the side of the cliff, about 150 down.

It's remains unclear as to whether drugs and alcohol played a role, Lavasseur says.

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
