Pedestrian Hit by Driver Backing Into Parking Space

A 40-year-old woman remains in critical condition this morning after she was struck by a driver parking his car.

According to police reports, the woman was at 16th and Pond streets at about 3:40 p.m. when a 66-year-old man back into a parking space and struck her. She was taken to San Francisco General Hospital where she's being treated for a life-threatening head injury. 
The driver was not arrested, police said.
