Police are investigating two stabbings that occurred within a block of each other yesterday in the city's Mission District.

Officer Gordon Shyy says a 23-year-old man was attacked by a group of guys as he walked through the Mission District. Police had very few details as of this morning, but said the victim was at 16th and Bryant streets at about 1 a.m. when he was approached by a group of eight men.

At least one of the guys pulled out a knife and stabbed the victim in the back. The group bolted the scene, leaving the victim on the street.

Police arrived and took the victim to San Francisco General Hospital where he's expected to survive.

The crime occurred a few hours after another man was stabbed one block away. In that incident, the 31-year-old victim was at 17th and Bryant streets at about 5:25 p.m. when a trio of men walked up and sliced him on the arm with an unknown weapon.

The attackers hopped into a gold-colored car waiting near the scene, police say.  The victim was taken to a local hospital and treated for his injuries.

No arrests have been made in either incident, and it's not clear whether the two stabbings are related. Of course, if you know anything about these two crimes, call SFPD at (415) 575-4444.

Update: Officer Albie Esparza says in both cases the suspects were gang members and asked the victims who they were affiliated with before stabbing them. Neither victim is related to a gang, police confirmed.

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
