Bayview Homes Flooding After Water Pipe Breaks

Posted By on Fri, Oct 3, 2014 at 7:31 AM

Amid this alarming drought, some San Francisco neighbors found themselves flooded out of their homes after a water main bursted in the Bayview neighborhood early this morning.

KTVU reports that the 12-inch pipe broke sometime around midnight near Key Avenue and Keith Street in the city's Bayview District. Somewhere between five and seven homes were flooded as were several streets in the area.

No word on what caused the pipe to break, but police and clean up crews were out there through the night trying to get control of the mess. The pipe was still gushing water as of 3 a.m. Finally, the San Francisco PUC had to shut off all the water out there, leaving residents in the Bayview without H20 this morning.

Needless to say, residents are not having a Happy Friday.  [via KTVU, KRON4]

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
