Westboro Baptist Church To Protest Facebook, Google

The Westboro Baptist Church, the infamous protesters who love to hate homosexuals, have shifted their attention to what they perceive as another group of damnable sinners: tech companies in San Francisco.

The group has previously been devoted to protesting military funerals, where they say the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan were part of God's retribution for our nation embracing homosexuality.

They're making plans for a trip to the Bay Area on Aug. 12, that includes a jammed-packed schedule with stops at Silicon Valley giants such as Facebook, Google, Apple, Skype, Youtube, as well as the San Francisco offices of Twitter, Pintrest, Instagram, and Reddit as targets.
Reasoning for the protests can be found in one of the church's recent press releases. It claims that social media has been used to spread "false doctrine" and should instead "spread the gospel."
God hates the media; in all its forms. God did not set these social
media networks in place to facilitate perverts pursuing their divers
filth; nor do they exist for pedophile grooming, spreading sodomite
agenda, other wicked political propaganda or propagating mountains of
false doctrine. On the contrary, all these media platforms have one
purpose; to spread the gospel far and wide. Though you labour in vain
to demonize and stop the words we speak; you only succeed causing
more people to see, hear and be convicted.
As Valleywag noted, tech looks like the lesser of two evils in this scenario: "Congratulations, you just found the quickest way to make the tech industry look hella sympathetic. The enemy of these lunatics is everyone's friend," the news site wrote.

Two days prior to the protests, members of the church are expected to hold a Reddit Ask Me Anything session at noon Pacific Time. Now the test is to see whether they actually follow through. This is not the first time these haters have payed a visit to the Bay Area, and it may not be the last.

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
