AT&T Park Is Now The Most Veggie-Friendly Ballpark, PETA Says

Vegetarians - KAWOUTER

And if PETA says so -- it must be true.

Whether you're a PETA fan or not, one thing is absolute about the Bay Area: We love baseball and weird plant-based diets.

So it's only fitting that AT&T Park reclaimed the no.1 spot on the animal organization's top 10 most vegetarian-friendly major league ballparks.

This is a nice victory for us, since the home of the Giants slipped from the top spot in recent years -- until now.

"Every year, we see more and more vegan options offered at ballparks across the country, which proves that baseball fans are, indeed, on the ball," PETA Associate Director Ryan Huling said.

Baseball fans in San Francisco can choose from several meat-free options, including frankfurters and artisan hand-formed burgers by Field Roast, vegetable pot stickers, the Cha Cha Bowl (rice, beans, vegetables, and pineapple salsa), made-to-order vegetable tacos and burritos, baked potatoes loaded with grilled veggies, and the crowd-favorite portobello mushroom sandwich.

AT&T Park previously topped the list in 2011, 2006, and 2005. It placed second from 2007 to 2010.

The top 10 stadiums are as follows:

1. AT&T Park (San Francisco Giants)

2. Citizens Bank Park (Philadelphia Phillies)

3. PNC Park (Pittsburgh Pirates)

4. Citi Field (New York Mets)

5. Nationals Park (Washington Nationals)

6. Coors Field (Colorado Rockies)

7. Safeco Field (Seattle Marines)

8. Fenway Park (Boston Red Sox)

9. Rogers Centre (Toronto Blue Jays)

10. Turner Field (Atlanta Braves)

PETA will honor the Giants with a framed, 100 percent vegan certificate.

The news landed in our laps about a month after Levi's Stadium was named "the most vegan-friendly stadium in the country." There you can chow down on navy bean curry, Portobello boa buns, and BBQ Jackfruit sandwiches all using knives, forks, and spoons that are 100 percent forks recyclable, compostable, or biodegradable.

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
