San Francisco police arrested two brothers today, saying they're responsible for slaying two men in separate shootings yesterday morning.
Homicide investigators nabbed 22-year-old Kenyon Norbert and his younger brother, 21- year-old Kishawn Norbert and charged them for the murders of Willie Cain, 24, and 30-year-old Keith Zinn.
On Monday, just before 3 a.m., Cain was shot in the head on the unit block of Brookdale Avenue near the city's Sunnydale housing projects. About six hours later, gunfire erupted again nearly five miles away on the unit block of Ironwood Way in the city's Bayview District.
Tomorrow, San Francisco's police dogs are scheduled to take a few hours off from sniffing out drugs and tracking down bad people for a work-related fashion show.
Specifically, the pups will be strutting around in their new custom-made bullet proof vests designed to better protect our local K-9s -- and their handlers -- while fighting crime.
Six of the Department's K-9s will receive one of the new vests donated by the Cover Your K-9 Fund, a nonprofit that helps keep California's police pups safe while on the job. The new vests will feature all kinds of cool technology, including infared lights with attachable cameras (for building searches), and rappel straps if they need to raise or lower a dog mid crime-fighting.

In Europe, where the terms "football" and "rail travel" have different connotations than they do here, rail travelers to distant football games might opt to hop the "football special."
Last week, we told you about another wayward marmot who had hitched a ride to San Francisco making himself right at home in the city's Potrero Hill neighborhood. Wildlife rescuers had big plans to capture the large squirrel and send him back to his rightful home.
According to the Wildlife Emergency Services, Duane, the person commissioned to catch the runaway rodent, headed down to 25th and Rhode Island streets, where a family had reported seeing the marmot camping out in their backyard. He arrived with two cages in the garden, prepared to bait the sneaky critter with a snack plate filled with apples, organic Newman's fig cookies, and some sweet melon.
Here's what happened next:
Medical authorities say it was 30-year-old Keith Zinn who was gunned down in broad daylight yesterday morning in the city's Bayview neighborhood.
Just before 10 a.m. on Monday, police were called out to the intersection of Ironwood and Catalina Street where they found Zinn, a San Francisco resident, with a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene, police say.

We're getting word that one person was injured in this solo crash early this morning, when a driver clearly lost control and slammed into a Bank of America in the Excelsior District.
Police told KTVU that they got a call around 5:45 a.m. about a white Mazda that had plowed into the front door of the BofA branch on Mission and Geneva streets.
When police arrived, they found only the injured driver at the scene.
