San Francisco authorities this afternoon identified two men who were killed in unrelated homicides that occurred nearly 12 hours apart as 24-year-old Edric Carr and 57-year-old Peter Myles.
Last night, just before 10 p.m., police were called out to the 2900 block of 16th Street where they found an unresponsive Myles who had been stabbed. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Roughly 12 hours later, police rushed to the scene of another homicide in the city's Potrero Hill neighborhood.
Gunshots were fired near the intersection of 25th and Connecticut streets at about 9:30 a.m. today. When officers arrived to the scene, they found Carr, a San Francisco resident, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to his upper body.
He was taken to San Francisco General Hospital where he later died.
Officer Albie Esparza told us the homicides do not appear to be related.
