We reported on Friday that this was possible: Muni drivers have allegedly initiated a massive sickout this morning, which means major delays for commuters across the city.
The SFMTA has taken to Twitter this morning alerting commuters of the mass delays and encouraging them to find other ways to work. KTVU is reporting that more than 200 Muni workers called in "sick" this morning, shutting down cable cars and leaving transit officials scrambling.

The sickout is the result of a dispute over labor contracts; on Friday, the union voted on a proposal that would give Muni workers 11.25 percent in raises over two years. In exchange, they'd have to start paying 7.5 percent more into their pension. That's not the deal the union thought they were going to get: They said they were led to believe that they would get 5 percent more pay and kick in 5 percent more to their pensions.
On Friday, an operator told SF Weekly that they were sure the union would reject this offer on the table. A vote was taken, but the ballots are still being counted. A so we wait -- for a final vote and a bus to work.
