Update: Well, the bomb threat turned out to be a ticking egg timer with a note attached. The fire chief tell KTVU that finals have been postponed. That should delight the procrastinators out there.
Police are en route to the Mid Market neighborhood where people have been evacuated after a bomb threat was called into the International Culinary School at The Art Institute of California.
According to Officer Albie Esparza, the threat came in at about 10:59 a.m. when a note was reportedly found on the sixth floor; fire crews have evacuated the building on the 1100 block of Market Street while police investigate.
The incident has shut down Market Street between Seventh and Eight streets, Esparza says. So you might want to look for another route around town. And yes, Muni is also affected.ATTN: Police activity on Market & 7th. Market Street srv routing around area. #FMarket switching back at 11th & at Ferry. Use Metro as alt.

At this point, the Bomb Detection K-9 crews are headed to the building "to conduct sweeps for safety reasons."
This was only a threat -- no package or suspicious device has been found at this time. It's worth noting that the school was having mid-terms at the time of the threat.
