An unidentified pedestrian was killed early this morning after being hit by a driver in the city's Civic Center neighborhood.

Officer Gordon Shyy says that the pedestrian was walking along Golden Gate and Van Ness avenues at about 11 p.m. on Sunday when a driver traveling northbound on Van Ness hit the person.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver remained at the scene;early reports indicate the pedestrian was not in the crosswalk at the time of the collision.

"This collision is still under investigation. Anyone with information regarding this collision is

encouraged to call police," Shyy says.

Medical authorities told SF Weekly they'd have an identification on the victim later this afternoon.

The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
