An elderly man was hit early this morning after a driver reportedly blew a red light in the city's Chinatown neighborhood.
Officer Gordon Shyy tells us that the victim was walking in the crosswalk at Stockton and Sacramento streets at about 6 a.m. when the driver plowed into him. According to witnesses, the driver had ran a red light as he hit the victim.
"The driver remained at the scene and was cited for failure to stop at a red light." Shyy says.
The pedestrian was transported to San Francisco General Hospital with serious upper body injuries.
