A 26-year-old man is in critical condition this morning after he was slashed during an early-morning fight in the city's Tenderloin neighborhood.
Details were scarce at this time, but what we can tell you is that police were called out to the 1000 block of Polk Street at about 12:12 a.m. on reports of a stabbing. When police arrived, they found the injured victim.
Officer Gordon Shyy tells us that witnesses say the suspect was denied entry into a building on the 1000 block of Polk Street. The suspect became irritated and started a verbal fight he then pulled out a knife, stabbed the victim multiple times, and fled.
The suspect -- identified as 36-year-old Sanchez Andrews -- was later located at the 900 block of Geary. he was arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon and criminal threats.
