Posted By on Tue, Mar 25, 2014 at 10:48 AM

View Larger MapA 25-year-old man is clinging to life this morning after he was struck by a driver who then left the victim at the scene yesterday afternoon.

Officer Gordon Shyy says the cyclist was pedaling along Eddy and Fillmore streets at about 2:30 p.m. when a driver in a maroon four-door vehicle struck the victim. The driver fled east on Fillmore Street, leaving the victim on the ground.

The cyclist was taken to San Francisco General Hospital where he's being treated for a life-threatening head injury. Police combed the area looking for the vehicle, which was later found unoccupied at Steiner and Golden Gate streets.

Now, they're looking for the driver responsible for the crash.

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call SFPD at 575-4444.
