A 15-year-old boy is suffering a head injury after he was hit in the Sunset District, at the same location another pedestrian was killed earlier this month.
On Wednesday, at about 6:17 p.m., the boy was walking in the crosswalk at Sunset Boulevard and Yorba Avenue when he was hit by a car. The boy was taken to San Francisco General Hospital where he's being treated for a head injury and injuries to his lower body.
Police say the boy is expected to survive.
The driver, who was not identified, remained at the scene and was cited, says Sgt. Danielle Newman. Police had no further details at this time.
The intersection was the exact location where 78-year-old Isaak Berenzon was killed as he walked along Sunset Boulevard. Police arrested 72-year-old Jenny Ching on suspicion of vehicular manslaughter.
Berenzon, who was also in the crosswalk, died at the scene.
