Some accidents you can blame on the rain and some must be blamed on all that alcohol consumed.

Police are blaming an early-morning accident on too much boozing (and the rain probably didn't help) when a man plowed his car into the historic Cliff House , north of Ocean Beach.

According to CBS News, a driver in a silver BMW SUV cruised down Point Lobos Avenue but lost control of the car when coming around the curb at the Cliff House. The driver ran over a sign post, smashed through a parked pickup truck and destroyed a concrete planter before taking a chunk out of the front of the building.

We only ask because there's been lots of news this morning of wet weather and slow commutes into work this morning.

The delayed drive your experiencing now has much to do with spin-outs, cars in ditches, and blocked lanes, according to various media reports.

Interstate 80 is creeping along, at best, after a big rig towing two trailers crashed through the center divide this morning near El Portal Drive in San Pablo. Several lanes are blocked in both directions and as of 8 a.m., all eastbound lanes were closed and only two westbound lanes were open, the Chron reports.

Among the many things that are oddly common in San Francisco, an unkempt pigeon devouring days-old leftovers on the streets is certainly one of them.

So while it didn't surprise us to see this feral pigeon chomping down on some chicken fried rice from a to-go box at BART the other day, it definitely made us wonder: Why?

The answer is simple: Like Americans, feral pigeons have fallen victim to convenience food. They prefer french fries over insects, and do you really blame them? It's much easier to feast on Doritos than head over to Lake Merced and try to catch a moth or dig up a worm.

We spoke to Noreen Weeden, a community volunteer with the Golden Gate Audubon Society, who gave us a little more insight into the city's dirtiest scavengers:

Mountain View police arrested Harlan Edelman, a longtime San Francisco teacher, this week after he allegedly agreed to meet a teenage boy in the park for sex.

The only problem is that "teenage boy" was actually undercover cops waiting to bust the former San Francisco teacher.

On Tuesday, police descended upon Peaceful Cuesta Park in Mountain View after exchanging social media messages with Edelman in the guise of being a 17-year-old boy. At the park, they found Edelman waiting for the boy with whom he had arranged a sex date.

The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
