The never-ending parking paranoia in Bernal Heights has hit a brand new low (or high if you're an amused observer).

It appears a neighbor is quite upset over parking hogs in the hood, and thus decided to take matters into his/her own hands.

We found the curious image on Bernalwood Press, which provides the colorful details of this tragedy:

Your free shuttle will be a lot more fun than theirs
  • Your free shuttle will be a lot more fun than theirs

The Presidio is, without doubt, San Francisco's premier plantation created, expressly, to "accentuate the idea of the power of the government."

It's also a hell of a weekend getaway, and, now, there's a free shuttle to take you there.

The Presidio Trust announced the Jan. 4 inauguration of the "PresidiGo Downtown Shuttle," which will run every half hour from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on weekends. It doesn't cost a thing and anyone and everyone is urged to hop on board and enjoy the bowling alley, restaurants, bikepaths, dunes, trees, and other vestiges of the power of the government.

Google Sea Bus: Company Squires Workers in Private Ferry

The Triumphant.
  • The Triumphant.

Evidently fatigued by the number of protesters blockading its buses, Google has found a more secure vehicle to shuttle its workers across the Bay: a private catamaran.

According to news station KPIX 5, the Mountain View search giant now contracts with Los Angeles-based firm Multinational Logistics to ferry tech employees from San Francisco to Redwood City in style, aboard the 149 seat Triumphant. At $50 per docking, it's a little more expensive than the corporate shuttles -- which currently pay $1 for every Muni stop they commandeer -- but it's also less likely to create traffic snarls. And gentrification allegories.

If you are anything like us, your acrophobia limits you to a step ladder, used only to retrieve the fancy champagne glasses on the top-shelf. So you can only imagine what watching this guy tightrope over Lands End -- the rocky and windswept shoreline at the mouth of the Golden Gate Bridge -- has done to us this morning.

We caught sight of this stressful video on the Richmondsfblog, which shows a serious risk-taker in action. On the other hand, the view from that high up isn't quite as distressing.

Stand Aside, Castro, the Mission Is Now S.F.'s Best Gay Neighborhood

We knew the Mission was the best place to get a burrito, but apparently it's also the best place to get a burrito, and by that we mean that the Mission was chosen as S.F.'s best gayborhood, according to a recent Out Traveler contest.

And we didn't even win! The Mission was voted runner-up to Boystown in Chicago for the title of "Most-Incomparable Gay Neighborhood in the World." We lost to the midwest and there was no mention of the Castro, where the rainbow flag is bigger than the American one? Where we celebrated the demise of DOMA and Prop. 8 recently? Where Harvey Milk Plaza resides? Halt the cake protests, people, we've got a real fight on our hands.*

After enjoying New Year's Eve dinner at grandma's, 6-year-old Sofia Liu and her family headed home when they were hit as they walked through a crosswalk in the Tenderloin.

Sofia was killed. Her mother and 5-year-old brother were badly injured, but survived.

Tuesday would have been her 7th birthday.

A week after the incident, Sofia's mother, Huan Kuang spoke to reporters, explaining that the accident not only left her with broken bones, but a broken heart. Reeling from the loss of the young Sherman Elementary first grader, the community has stepped up and started a fundraising campaign to help Liu's family pay for a memorial service as well as other necessary costs.

Janet Kunze, whose son attended school with Liu, organized the campaign.

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
