Well this is crazy. An underground gas vault exploded into a big ball of flames in an Oakland neighborhood this morning, forcing residents to scramble from their homes.

Reports are just coming in that it was a 4-inch PG&E gas main that ruptured, igniting the fire at Golf Links Road and Fontaine Street.

No word of any injuries at this time, and fire crews are at the scene, attempting to turn off the gas main and stop this fiery blaze.

Stay tuned.

Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
