A San Francisco man is in jail today after he allegedly attacked a throng of police officers as they tried to subdue him. His weapon of choice: his teeth.

Police said on Sunday morning they came across a screaming man on the corner of Market and Jones streets where he was "violently flailing his arms." The suspect ran into the street right into oncoming traffic, grabbed the rear of his waistband, and declared that he was going to shoot the officers.

At that moment, both Muni cops and beat officers confronted the man and chased him down Jones Street where they wrestled him to the ground, police said. By this point, the suspect was in "full fight mode."

He continued to scream and kick before opening his mouth; he writhed around as he bit one cop at a time. An officer was bitten on the forearm and the knee and another one was bitten on the hand. All the bite wounds drew blood.

The man continued his fit, punching and kicking the officers; It took several officers to eventually calm the man who was quickly arrested and hauled to jail.

According to police, the suspect was unharmed and did not need medical (or dental) attention.
