Original Story 7:15 a.m.: San Francisco police are searching for the person who gunned down an unidentified man selling his PlayStation4 console yesterday afternoon.

According to police, the victim advertised the newly released PS-4 on Instagram where the potential buyer contacted him to purchase the console. At about 3:30 p.m., the victim and his girlfriend drove from Hayes Valley where they live to the Bayview where they had arranged to meet the buyer.

The couple arrived at Mendell Street and Galvez Avenue, but before they could even get out of the car, they were robbed at gunpoint. Despite turning over the Playstation console, the man was shot several times, according to press reports.

"They drove away from the scene as soon as they could," SFPD Lt. Tim Plyer told KTVU. "And they were able to get hold of a police officer who gave them aid and called for an ambulance."

The couple reportedly stopped by a gas station on Bayshore Boulevard near Highway 101, where an ambulance arrived and rushed the victim to San Francisco General Hospital. He died later that day.

The woman was not injured, according to KTVU.

There was no suspect description available as of this morning, and the Medical Examiner's Office told SF Weekly the victim's identity was still pending.

Anyone with information about the case was asked to call the Police Department's anonymous tip line at 575-4444 or to send a tip by text message to TIP411 with "SFPD" in the message.
