Update 2:05 p.m.: Authorities identified the woman who was killed as 23-year-old Melquiesha Warren, a Sacramento resident. According to the Chron, Warren had left Club OMG! with her wife, TiffanyRenee Warren, and some friends and was sitting in a parked car when two men backed into the car. The victim reportedly got out of the car to look at the fender and that's when the argument started. The men shot Melquiesha Warren in the head and her friend in the chest before driving off. According to the newspaper, Melquiesha Warren had grown up in Oakland and just graduated from California State University in Sacramento.

Original story 8:15 a.m.: San Francisco police are investigating a double shooting in the city's SOMA neighborhood which left one woman killed and another critically injured.

Police were called to the corner of Jesse and Sixth streets at about 2 a.m. on Sunday on reports of a shooting. When they arrived, they found the two victims -- one had been shot in the head and the second woman had been shot in the chest.

Both were transported to San Francisco General Hospital where one of the women died. The second victim -- who has not been identified -- is in critical condition, said Officer Gordon Shyy.

Police believe there was a fight that led to the shooting. Ken Barrows, who lives in the apartment building overlooking the parking lot where the victims were found, told KGO that he heard the commotion that night.

"I heard the arguing," he said. "I mean, it wasn't really that bad. I mean, to me. I don't know, didn't really catch my attention. And then I heard gunshots and that's when I looked out the window."

According to Barrows, a large crowd left a nightclub on Sixth Street which hosted a hip hop night on Saturday."It was the biggest crowd I've ever seen," Barrows told the news station.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Police Department's anonymous tip line at 575-4444 or to send a tip by text message to TIP411 with "SFPD" in the message.
