As if riding a train at 5:30 a.m. didn't already suck enough, riders on the L train got an extra dose of "this day blows" when the inbound train derailed while approaching the West Portal tunnel.

Don't worry, no one was hurt. But there were probably a lot of cranky passengers, considering it took an hour before SFMTA was able to restore train service.CBS reported the inbound train's wheels hopped off the rails at Ullola Street right in front of the West Portal Station and that officials on the scene thought the problem may have been caused by the switch signal. SFMTA is still investigating what caused the derailment. Shuttles were deployed to help relieve the congestion.

Crews had the train back on the tracks by 5:55 A.M., with service up and running around 6:30 A.M.

Happy Friday.

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
