Derrick Shao: Police Looking for Missing City College Student

San Francisco police are hoping someone out there knows what happened to 20-year-old Derrick Shao who disappeared on his way to classes at City College last week.

According to police, Shao, a San Francisco resident, was last seen on Thursday at about 10 a.m. on the 900 block of Ingerson. He was en route to his Muni stop at Hawes abd Ingerson where he was going to catch the 29 bus line to City College.

According to police, he never showed up to scheduled classes.

His family and friends have not heard from him since, and have not been able to contact him.

Shao was last seen wearing black-rimmed glasses, a dark-blue Northface hooded pullover, dark jeans, red, white and black Nike shoes and was carrying a black Jansport backpack.

Shao frequents McDonald's, Whole Foods, Quickly and other restaurants in the SF City College area. Shao lives with his family and is described as a "homebody."

Shao is about 5-foot-10, 185 pounds, with brown eyes and black hair. His primary language is English, but he also speaks Cantonese. Anyone with information regarding Shao is asked to call San Francisco police 553-1071 or directly at the Bayview Station at 671-2300.
