Bay Area Mom Upset Over Breaking Bad Costume Made for Kids

Among the many things parents can -- and will -- do to completely fuck up their kids for life includes dressing them up as the two meth-making villains from Breaking Bad for Halloween.

Amy Graff, the Bay Area mom who pens pieces for the Chronicle's Mommy Files, pointed out just how utterly inappropriate the costume set -- which comes with blue rock candy -- is.

She explains her opinion in her latest piece titled "The most inappropriate children's Halloween costume ever (that you'll probably love"):

Talk about a disturbing riff on the American television crime drama series. As a mother, I have to say that I do not approve. Children shouldn't be even remotely involved with anything pertaining to meth -- thank you very much.

Graff was particularly pissed out how supportive the world was of this costume after Breaking Bad's favorite tweaker Aaron Paul tweeted the photo out a few days ago. As she notes, the image received thousands of likes and comments, most positive, such as: "Let's have babies just to make them wear great costumes."

"Isn't it fascinating how we're willing to accept something so inappropriate in the name of a pop culture phenomenon that's widely viewed as cool, hip, even intellectual," Graff writes. "Of course, if this were an image of children dressed up as Miley Cyrus in that horrific outfit we'd all be screaming, "Boo!""

We get it, meth -- even in the most make-believe form -- isn't adorable, especially on your perfect kid. Still, did she have to bring Miley Cyrus into this? In any event, she was right, majority of the people out there like it -- even Chron readers who used the comment section on the story to tell Graff to "lighten up."

The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
