Authorities today identified the man whose body was pulled from the water near Pier 30-32 as 42-year-old Ronald Laverty, a Southern California resident.

The cops discovered the body at about 8 a.m. in the water near Bryant Street. They have yet to determine whether a crime was committed.

Over the weekend, authorities found a running shoe with a severed foot inside at Ocean Beach. The cops say they still don't know whose foot it is or what happened to the rest of the body.
