Medical authorities say it was 32-year-old Kevin Hayes who fell to his death while walking with his brother at Candlestick Park before the 49ers game yesterday afternoon.

According to Officer Gordon Shyy, Hayes, a Hayward resident, was walking on the Jamestown pedestrian parkway at about 1:30 p.m. when he fell onto the sidewalk and suffered serious injuries. Off-duty medical personnel provided aid to Hayes until the paramedics arrived.

Hayes was taken to San Francisco General Hospital where he died from his injuries.

"Multiple independent witnesses indicated he appeared to be intoxicated prior to his fall," Shyy said.
