There's an old saying that goes, "dating is a blood sport." This proved to be very true for one not-so-lucky woman.

According to police, a 20-year-old woman who was attempting to ask another woman out got punched in the face. Some time around 1:30 a.m., the woman approached the other gal on the 2100 block of Market Street, between Church and Sanchez streets, and asked her out.

After the girl asked the 25-year-old woman out, a man described to be between 20 and 25 years old tried to get in on the action, and suggested that the three of them go on a date. The victim refused the overtures, and was punched in the face by the woman she asked out, according to a police report.

A 30-year-old man who saw this incident tried to intervene and he too was punched in the head several times, knocking him unconscious. The suspects took the man's wallet and some cash before bolting in an unknown direction, police said.

The victim was taken to St. Luke's Hospital with non life-threatening injuries.

Local bartender Matt Grippo was working when the incident happened. Although he didn't witness it, he brought the injured man some ice.

"It was the busiest night of the year," he said.

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
