Karl Mitchell Identified as Teen Shot to Death in S.F.; Homicide No. 14

Medical authorities say it was 18-year-old Karl Mitchell who was gunned down in San Francisco's Visitacion Valley neighborhood yesterday afternoon.

According Officer Gordon Shyy, Mitchell, a Pittsburg resident, walked into San Francisco General Hospital at about 3 p.m. with a gunshot wound. He died at the hospital, police said.

Police said the shooting occurred at the intersection of Wilde and Girard streets, however, they had no more information at this time.

The shooting is the city's 14th homicide this year.
