If you can't be with the someone you love on Valentine's Day, then love the one you'e with, as Stephen Stills would sing.

And that'd be San Francisco. Who else do you spend all your money on?

Now, it's time to declare your love for this city, even if you can't afford it. Thankfully, the S.F. Travel Association has come up with a cheap way for all you broke city-lovers to express your deep affection for Fog City on that Hallmark holiday.

Obviously, San Francisco doesn't want a card, but the environmentally conscious, tech-happy city would much prefer its love letter via Twitter. That means you will have to toss your Shakespearean sonnets and find a way to profess your devotion in 140 characters.

You have until the end of the week to come up with a missive that will sweep the city off its feet. Whoever can sweet talk their way into the heart of San Francisco will win a romantic trip for two.

Here's what you have to do: Tweet your sappy prose to @onlyinsf or post it to San Francisco's Facebook page. San Francisco Travel will read all your personal feelings (and probably have a good laugh) and select the best love letter, awarding a VIP trip for two to San Francisco for Valentine's Day weekend.

San Francisco's weekend prize package includes:

  • A round-trip transportation for two on Amtrak, departing Los Angeles' Union Station on Feb. 14 at 10 a.m. (Because we know it's L.A. folks who secretly love S.F.)

  • Three nights at The Fairmont San Francisco

  • Two tickets to the San Francisco Ballet

  • Two tickets to the Walt Disney Family Museum

  • Two tickets to the Asian Art Museum

  • Two tickets to the de Young Museum

  • $100 dining certificate (bring your wallet since that surely won't cover it)

  • Shopping certificate to Westfield San Francisco Centre

To kick off the romantic rail excursion, winners will meet San Francisco(?) at Los Angeles' Union Station on Valentine's Day at 8 a.m. The Amtrak train will be quite a sight, disguised as a cable car with magical fog and a Golden Gate Bridge replica.

Before reaching San Francisco, the train will make a transitory stop in Santa Barbara for a platform performance, featuring Santa Barbara's unique company of characters.

Here's your contest rules. And may the best Romeo win.

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
