Medical authorities have identified the man who was fatally shot last night as 24-year-old Byron Beasley, a San Francisco resident.

Police say Beasley was on the 700 block of Grove Street just before 8 p.m. when an unidentified person drove up and shot him, once in the chest and once in the leg.

Beasley was taken to San Francisco General Hospital where he died a few hours later.

Police have identified no motives for the shooting, nor do they have suspect description at this time.

The shooting marks the city's 63rd homicide this year.
