Update (Sept. 25): Turns out, Oliver Barcenas was allegedly on his way to avenge the killing of 20-year-old Jesus Solis earlier that week when he was confronted by police, according to press reports.

(Original story Sept. 24): If you weren't able to attend this morning's town hall meeting to hear SFPD Chief Greg Suhr detail last week's officer-involved shooting, you have another chance tonight.

Supervisor David Campos is hosting a second meeting with the community today at 6 p.m. to talk about the recent gun violence in the Mission, and better understand why a plainclothes officer shot and injured Oliver Barcenas in a foot chase last week.

Barcenas was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries, and has since been charged with aggravated assault on a peace officer with an assault weapon, being a

felon in possession of a firearm, possession of a banned assault weapon, and participating in a criminal street gang, according to police.

Shortly after 8 p.m. on Thursday, two plainclothes officers spotted Barcenas and another man walking near 14th and Mission streets. Believing them to be identified gang members, one of the officers approached the pair. Barcenas took off running, and the cop chased after him.

Barcenas allegedly pulled out a Tec-9 pistol, which was loaded with 25 rounds,

and turned toward the cop. The officer ordered him to drop the weapon,

but instead Barcenas raised it, police said. Fearing for his life, the

officer shot him -- twice.

A few hours after the shooting Thursday night, protesters spontaneously rallied outside the Mission Police Station, where they taunted police and scrawled "killers" across the front of the station.

Tonight's meeting starts at 6 p.m. at the Good Samaritan

Community Resource Center, 1294 Potrero (at 25th St.). Suhr will be there to answer your questions.

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
