Sadly, the weeklong search for 20-year-old Brett Michael Olson has come to an end after his body was found yesterday morning along the Sacramento River.

A Memorial Service is being planned for Tuesday, according to his family, who left the following message on Facebook:
You all are our friends now. There are not words to describe how moved we have been by everything all of you have done for us. You filled us with hope and love this week which we will carry with us for the res of our lives. the last time our son Brett was seen was about 4pm one week ago today. We are thinking that at about 4pm today, please pause and give a hug to someone close or send one to our son. May that bring each of you, and Brett, a feeling of hope, love, peace, and strength.
The Olson family.

Olson, a Lafayette resident and Cal Poly student, went missing on Sept. 2 after meeting up with friends to go tubing along the river -- a tradition for thousands of students before the start of the school year. He was seen at about 1 p.m., when he arrived at Beer Can Beach along the Sacramento River, south of Chico State.

The candlelight vigil and memorial event is expected to take place at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Acalanes High School in Lafayette, according to friends and organizers. To find out how to donate to the Olson family, go to the Let's Bring Brett Home website

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
