Woman Clinging to Life After Hitting Light Pole

A 25-year-old woman is in the hospital today with serious head injuries after she crashed into a light pole yesterday morning in the Inner Sunset.

According to police, the woman, who has not been identified, was driving along 19th Avenue and Lawton at 8:23 a.m. when she crashed into a light pole for an unknown reason -- and landed near a building.

No other vehicles were involved. The woman was taken to San Francisco General Hospital with a critical head injury.
