A 30-year-old man remains in critical condition being shot by a San Francisco police officer, who chased the man down the Embarcadero after he allegedly stabbed a co-worker.

Police Chief Greg Suhr said that at about 10:15 a.m., the suspect, who was only described as a Cambodian man, began stabbing a fellow employee with box cutters as the two worked at Tcho Chocolate Factory on the Embarcadero.

"He started cutting the victim, for no apparent reason," said Officer Albie Esparza.

The suspect then ran out of the factory, and a female police officer chased him toward Davis and Jackson streets, ordering him to drop the box cutters. The suspect refused, and when he allegedly lunged at the officer, she fired two shots at him, hitting the suspect in the chest, Suhr said.

turned him over and began performing CPR on the man until an

ambulance arrived. He was taken to San Francisco General Hospital with

life-threatening injuries, Suhr says.

The chief was unable to give us any more details about the suspect, but said the officer has been placed on paid leave, which is standard protocol for officer-involved shootings.

The victim and the suspect were both temporary workers at the chocolate factory.

TCHO employees say the factory is still open for business, however, nobody would comment on what happened earlier this morning.

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
