A kitchen fire interrupted lunch for more than 150 patrons dining at Kokkari restaurant in the city's Financial District this afternoon.

The fire started at the upscale Greek restaurant around 1:30 p.m. However, nobody inside the restaurant even noticed until the fire trucks arrived. Folks passing by the restaurant, located at 200 Jackson St., saw smoke billowing out of the building, so they dialed 911.

SF Weekly Staff Writer Laura Murray is at the scene and talked to a chef who said the kitchen staff hadn't noticed anything burning where they were cooking.

Some patrons and even the hostess saw smoke outside the building, but

because this is San Francisco, they figured it was just the fog.

The flames were extinguished about 30 minutes later, and there were no injuries. Fire officials are now beginning to investigate what started the fire.

The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
