University officials said they have established the Oikos University Victims Foundation, a memorial fund to help the families of the seven people who were killed in the April 2 shooting spree.
University officials made the announcement today during a morning memorial service, which was held at the university's campus in East Oakland. Jongin Kim, president of the university spoke at the service, offering his condolences to the victims' families.
"We pray that God may comfort the families and friends of the victims, and the souls of those seven individuals who lost their lives. It is difficult to find the right words to console the families going through this indescribable tragedy," he said. "The administration and staff of Oikos Community wish to extend our heartfelt condolences to all of those affected by this terrible event."
